A Modern and Usable Digital Experience
Since 1988, Canada Spring has been a trusted provider of high-quality suspension solutions for vehicles, earning a reputation for exceptional customer service and industry expertise. Based in British Columbia, the company’s commitment to Canadian manufacturing and a customer-centric approach has made it a go-to resource for both individual customers and large distributors like Lordco. With decades of experience, Canada Spring’s mission is clear: to deliver tailored solutions that ensure safety, reliability, and value for their customers.
Canada Spring’s existing digital presence no longer reflected its deep expertise, dedication to quality, or future growth aspirations. The website needed a fresh, modern look that aligned with the company’s values and offered a structured, user-friendly experience. Key goals included showcasing their top-selling products, creating a unique design that stood out in the market, and preparing the platform for future e-commerce capabilities. Given that most users access the site via mobile devices, responsiveness was a top priority.
The project demanded a balance between refreshing the current digital identity and preparing for future scalability. Canada Spring wanted to strip away underperforming products and focus on their top 100 best-sellers, with a particular emphasis on promoting U-bolts—a high-demand product line. Additionally, the company required tools to reduce order errors, such as a U-bolt configurator, while laying the groundwork for future features like supplier logins and online sales.
To create a seamless user experience, the site’s Information Architecture (IA) was restructured from the ground up. A straightforward grid layout ensured findability and usability, allowing users to quickly locate the products and information they needed. Filters by make or part further enhanced navigation, making it easy for customers to identify the right solutions for their vehicles.
The visual design was crafted to reflect Canada Spring’s authentic, no-frills ethos while incorporating modern aesthetics. Using the existing red and gray brand colors, we developed a clean and responsive design that resonated with both individual customers and commercial partners. Realistic imagery of the shop and products added a layer of authenticity, grounding the design in Canada Spring’s everyday operations.
To address the company’s emphasis on U-bolt sales, we developed a custom U-bolt configurator. This tool allows users to customize their orders, reducing errors and improving the customer experience. Additional features included a shipping cost calculator and the integration of WooCommerce for future online sales capabilities. Each component was designed with WCAG AA 2.1 standards in mind, ensuring accessibility for all users.
The platform was built using a custom WordPress theme, offering the flexibility needed for future expansions. Phase Two of the project will include login credentials for suppliers and enhanced e-commerce functionalities, positioning Canada Spring for long-term digital success.
The redesigned Canada Spring website successfully embodies the company’s expertise and commitment to quality. Its modern design and intuitive structure provide an exceptional user experience, while the U-bolt configurator and WooCommerce integration set the stage for streamlined operations and future growth. The site is now fully responsive, ensuring a seamless experience for the predominantly mobile audience.
