A Digital Renaissance for McQuarrie Law
In 2023, McQuarrie Law turned to Takt (formerly Massive) to redefine its online presence. The firm’s previous website had devolved into a digital relic—hard to update, stagnant in content, and visually outdated. It no longer embodied the professional, innovative, and honest ethos of the McQuarrie brand. With a reputation built on decades of excellence, the firm needed a website that echoed its values and modern approach to legal services.
Crafting a Design Rooted in Brand Identity
Working within McQuarrie’s existing logo and brand guidelines, Takt infused the firm’s signature burgundy red and navy blue into the website’s design. These colors took form as dynamic angles, strategically placed to create visual hierarchy and elevate key imagery. A touch of grey added balance, while parallax animations brought energy and interactivity, encouraging users to engage with the site’s content. Ample white space complemented this bold design, ensuring an intuitive and effortless user flow.
Through stakeholder interviews and workshops, we uncovered a critical insight: most users navigated the site seeking information about specific practice areas or legal team members. To streamline these journeys, the “Practice Areas” and “Our Team” sections were prominently featured in the top navigation and highlighted on the homepage. This strategic placement ensured users could quickly access the information they sought.
Recognizing the importance of trust and community engagement to McQuarrie’s identity, we also introduced dedicated pages for “Community Values” and “Testimonials.” These sections celebrated the firm’s longstanding contributions to the community and offered additional social proof to reinforce its credibility.
Content strategy played a pivotal role in the site’s redesign. Practice Area pages were transformed into hubs of relevant information, dynamically pulling in profiles of lawyers specializing in each area, thought leadership articles, media coverage, and testimonials. This approach ensured that users were presented with contextually relevant content, creating a seamless and informative experience that aligned with their goals.
The new McQuarrie Law website meets WCAG AA 2.1 standards, underscoring the firm’s commitment to accessibility. Fully responsive across devices, the site adapts to modern user behaviors, whether accessed via desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
The result is a vibrant, professional, and user-centric website that seamlessly marries form and function. McQuarrie Law’s digital gateway now reflects its stature as a forward-thinking law firm, offering users a cohesive and intuitive platform to connect with the services and professionals they need.
